Grief and Mindset Coaching

WHO DO I WORK WITH?

I work with people from all walks of life around a whole range of issues but specialise in Grief Coaching and Mindset Coaching. I aim to be the Coach I needed when my Mum and other family members passed away, and also through situations where I needed to process job, friendship health and emotional health issues.

Mindset Coaching involves helping people to make decisions about their future that means they need to plan for and make changes. This may include achieving their financial, employment and fitness goals; making decisions about relationships, parenting and relocation; managing the menopause. You may also want to manage feelings such as overwhelm, fear, stress, low self esteem and anxiety.

Grief Coaching involves helping people to find their new normal after bereavement and loss. This may be through death, redundancy or divorce/separation. All loss involves us needing to find and become comfortable with a new sense of identity, perspective and routine, as well as the making of new memories. We will talk freely and openly about your loss, whilst working together to move forward in a way that honours your old life, whilst building your new one.

You may come to me with a clear idea of your goals but wanting support to take action and get results, or you may come to me knowing you want to make a change but you’re just not sure what or how. Each session has the aim of identifying a goal or desire, unpicking and unblocking any obstacles, and then making a plan of action to take you forward toward your goal, and achieving it, one step at a time.

No issue is too small or too big; you bring what you want to work on and through conversations and coaching tools (materials and activities), you and I would work together to process things through to a point where you are able to feel calm, have a sense of clarity, set your goals, take action and achieve well-being and balance in your life.

‘After my coaching sessions with Rachel, I now have a greater confidence in my own abilities and an acceptance of myself…..I actually like me! It has been life changing, liberating and healing. You have helped me find my wings. Thank you Rachel’ – Feedback from Elizabeth, July 2020 after 1-2-1 coaching sessions

WHAT IS COACHING?

Coaching is essentially a series of conversations between me (the coach) and you (my client), enhanced by tools and strategies to help you think things through and plan things out. It is forward focused process, helping you to get the very best from yourself and empowering you to make decisions to improve your life. I am not there to tell you what to do or make demands of you but I am there to facilitate your thoughts and actions through asking you questions, making honest observations, noticing patterns or areas to work on, and acting as your sounding board as you think, plan, act and achieve.

‘Rachel, thank you for everything. This session has been a great help for me tonight. I am always excited and wondering what can come out of our sessions and every time I am amazed by the quality and great work you provide to me. It is why I like our sessions so much and I look forward to speaking to you soon’ – Feedback from ML, September 2020 1-2-1 coaching sessions

Coaching is not a substitute for counselling, directive advice or therapy. I am not a counsellor or therapist, and I will therefore not be providing you with counselling/therapy. I find the diagram below very useful to show the difference between the two. If you feel that counselling is what you need, then please speak to your GP or check out local counselling providers to you.
